If you are a group organizer and the payment deadline for your Pay By Group has passed, there will be a notification to that effect at the top of your dashboard. It will read “This offer has expired. Your group didn't make the necessary payments in time” and include a link to request an extension from the merchant. The merchant must grant an extension and update your group in order for you to be able to submit any further payments for the purchase.
Any time you fail to make a payment by the merchant’s required date, it may then be impossible to complete your purchase. If you fail to make an on-time payment for a purchase with installment payments, your past payments will be subject to the merchant’s cancellation and refund policy.
If the deadline can be extended, your Pay By Group will be edited to reflect the new payment due date and contributors will once again be able to join in. Please do everything you can to ensure your group completes before the new deadline passes.
On the other hand, you may see a notification that reads, “The invite deadline expired. Extend it to let more people contribute” that includes a link to contact Pay By Group to request an extension. In these cases, the Smart deadline can be extended slightly to grant your group more time, but only up to the group's next payment deadline, which will almost always be within the next 24 hours or less. If you are the group organizer, you can view the payment deadline in the Organizer Controls bar near the top of the dashboard to determine if there's room to extend the Smart deadline.
Click the link to request to extend the deadline, and your email client will open with a new message to our support team. Simply send us a message with your desired completion date, up to and including the next payment deadline, and we’ll work with you and the merchant to extend it if possible.
